Why should I use a fabric bowl cover rather than plastic wrap?

Plastic wrap contains harmful chemicals that can leach into your food and have a harmful effect on you and your family. It also has a devastating effect on the environment because it is really hard to recycle and most of it ends up in the landfill or the ocean. 

Fabric bowl covers are reusable, recyclable and compostable. Made from organic cotton and natural beeswax it has no harmful effect on your body or the planet.

 

What is the difference between a waxed cover and an unwaxed cover?

A waxed cover is covered in a layer of pure beeswax, the beeswax helps to make the cover more airtight so that food will keep moist during fridge storage for longer. This makes a waxed cover perfect for refrigerate left overs for a few days.
Unwaxed covers are beautiful organic cotton, really good for making fermentations, covering snacks , dips and chips for short periods of time, covering rising dough and baking, covering your mixer bowl, covering fruit bowls to protect from fruit flies and insects,and perfect to cover a dish that you are taking to a potluck!

 

How do I clean my bowl cover?

A waxed fabric bowl cover can be washed with a mild dish detergent and some cool water. Air dry on your dish rack and reuse.
A unwaxed cover can be machine washed and dried

 

What size cover will work best for me?

Extra Large - For your big family salad bowl , your biggest mixing bowl , and your fruit bowl (12")

Large - Perfect for covering your big pie plate, your kitchen aid mixing bowl or regular size dinner plate (10")

Medium - Covers a smaller mixing bowl, a smaller salad bowl ,a small plate and a rimmed cereal bowl (8.5")

Small - Perfect for a regular sized cereal bowl and a small side plate (6")

Mini - For those little bowls of dip or sauce (5")

Mason jar - Covers your regular to large size mason jar (3")
